Nice little museum dedicated to the history of the Cumberland Valley Railroad in Mechanicsburg, PA. Small displays of equipment, posters, schedules and information. Working model train display was a blast for the kids.
They have a great Christmas display at this time with an awesome working train layout that is something to see. Free admission but they do appreciate donations, it's what keeps them going.
We stopped in for the Christmas train display and then went to the old ticket station and got a tour of the station master's house that was very informative. The whole family (13 and 8yr old kids) enjoyed it.
Great source for the Mechanicsburg history.
It consists of a Passenger station, freight station and telegraph office. There is an A to Z exhibit.
Other displays include local advertising cards, early Jubilee Day flyer, stationary and paintings. Quilts from the mid 1800's. Maintenance equipment, such as a crowbar, stop sign, tie turner & spike hammer.
